Boys Varsity Soccer!

Soccer season is up and running at Clovis East High School. The varsity boy’s team recently played Mclane High on November 29th. It was a hard fought game by both teams as the game ended up in a 1-1 draw. Both teams had chances to win the game, but neither team could put the ball in the back of the net. Head Coach Santiago Aguilera took the time to speak with us about the performance of the team. “I think we played really well, however finishing was a problem. We learned what needed to be fixed in our scrimmage game against Memorial, and went from there. Our defense really stepped up, but we are disappointed we didn’t get the win.” Clovis East is coming off a 3-1 loss to Memorial. The boys deserved the win against Memorial as they dominated the whole game, but left many counter attacks go to waste. Coach Santiago also stated, “Our team has a lot of potential this year. We should compete for a Valley Championship.” The varsity boy’s team is preparing for the Harold S. Young Tournament that takes place on December 2nd and 3rd at the Fresno Regional Sports Complex.
