Congress Round
The school day of March 15 will end shortly for Clovis East’s debate team as they will be leaving promptly after lunch to head to Edison to compete in Congress! Congress is just like it sounds with a mock Congress theme; the room is filled with “senators” who defend or attack the proposed bill that has been drafted and sent for ratification. In this Congress round such bills include: the legalization of medical marijuana, whether teachers should be able to obtain tenure, and whether or not the span of time to accept unemployment should increase from 99 weeks to 144 weeks. This is sure to be an exciting and amazing display of preparation and quick wit!
