Articulation Concert
On Monday the 30th, the students from Oraze, TK, Freedom, Reagan, Fancher Creek, Reyburn, and Clovis East came together to show parents what an amazing activity their children are involved in. Students from all the elementary schools joined together to make a wind ensemble of about 125 (50 students more then the year before) and a string group. These groups played an individual piece, as well as the Reyburn wind ensemble and stings. At the end of each individual piece, the three string groups played a piece together, and then all three wind ensembles played their piece together.
The Clovis East wind group played out a little skit to grab the attention of the younger students. Starting of as a choral piece, and to the utter "surprise" of Mr. Vallejo, who was conducting, a student puts his clarinet down and starts to jam out on the drum set. Then the trumpets decide to join him and yell "PARTY ROCK!!". After this the whole band begins to play the Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO. Eventually Mr. Vallejo gives up on stopping it and just starts to dance.
The students here at Clovis East's Band want all these students to stay with band and continue through high school and welcome all other students who want to start learning.
