What C.A.R.T. has to offer to You??

Monday, January 30th was the Clovis East visitation trip to C.A.R.T. (Center for Advanced Research and Technology) for current juniors and sophomores at Clovis East right now. Approximately 180 students from Clovis East attended the trip to see what C.A.R.T. has to offer them. There is a variety of classes from Biomedicine to Environmental Science to Computer Engineering to even Business and Marketing.
C.A.R.T. hosts many hands-on courses in various areas in science. These courses are divided into two groups, which are then subdivided into smaller groups. In the first group are the physical sciences; in the second group are the technical sciences.
The Physical Sciences
- Forensics and Biotechnology
- Practicing Crime Scene investigation
- Biomedical Engineering
- Exploring such fields as: genetic engineering and drug development and testing
- Psychology and Human Behavior
- Studying the workings of the human mind at the psychological and chemical levels
- Environmental Science and Field Research ROP
- Studying the environment and humanity’s impact on the Earth; includes trips to various state parks.
- Biomedicine
- Exploring issues in medical science and human anatomy/physiology
- Law, Order, and Policy
- Students study the American Judicial System through such activities as Mock trials and trips to courthouses and law firms.
The Technical Sciences
· Network Management and Computer Maintenance ROP
o Students learn about computer hardware and networking.
· Multimedia-Digital Media and Graphic Design ROP
o Students learn about communication and message design through learning graphic and web techniques
· Multimedia-Digital Video Production and Broadcast ROP
o Students develop skills in television and film production
· Interactive Game Design ROP
o Students learn about how to design and produce videogames
· Web Application Development ROP
o Students learn how to design, develop, and deploy internet applications such as the ones used by Youtube, Google, and Facebook.
· Engineering and Product Development ROP
o Develop solutions to engineering design problems
· Robotics and Electronics ROP
o Students design, build, and test robots.
· Business and Finance ROP
o Students learn about economics by creating their own business
· Marketing and Advertising ROP
o Students learn how to develop and sell products and the business strategies of major companies by developing their own product.
