Recap Of Boys Soccer Season

The 2011-2012 boys soccer season has come to an end. The boys began their season in late October. This was the time for all the soccer players to train hard to gear up for the season. This year’s team traveled to two different tournaments: one in Fresno and another in Bakersfield . League play began in December playing at Lamonica Stadium against Clovis High. Each team in the TRAC played each team twice. Senior Night took place on February 7th against Central as Central took home the win. Clovis East didn’t let their 0-10 league record affect their confidence. The boys trained hard for the upcoming playoff games. Clovis East traveled to Clovis North to open up the first round of the playoffs. This game was important for the Timberwolves as they attempted to win their first playoff game in school history. Both teams fought hard to remain scoreless through the first 80 minutes. The two teams played two overtimes to determine the winner; however, the score remained 0-0. After 110 minutes of playing, the game was to be finished on penalty kicks. The Broncos finished out the game by winning 4-3 on penalty kicks. Despite the loss, Head coach Santiago Aguilera and Athletic Director Pete Price were proud of these boys. Despite a tough loss, this season was a success. Congratulations to the boys soccer team for all they’ve done this past season on and off the field.
