Student Sneak Peek at Smokey Joe's

Over 100 people auditioned for a role in the new school play, Smokey Joe’s Café. It will premiere in March of 2012. “There were a lot of students that went to participate and audition, we cast over 70 and have now gone down to 66, so far,” commented Mr. Stump, who is Clovis East's drama director. Mr. Stump has been working diligently with his students to make this play a fantastic showcase of Clovis East’s theater. The students have been working very hard to make this play come into being and will continue to do so until show time in March. Mr. Stump has been waiting to do this show for years. “I wanted to do it for a very long time,” he said in an interview last Tuesday, Oct. 11. The play will get its chance this year to be performed by Clovis East.  “Smokey Joe’s was more suitable for a small musical review,” noted Mr. Stump.  Keep an eye out for the grand opening of Smokey Joe's Cafe.
